Lush Oxford Street visit!

Sunday 28 February 2016

So on Saturday I took a lovely trip to Oxford Street with a friend who I have loved and cherished for nearly 10 years. It was wonderful seeing her and catching up as we hadn't seen each other in so long!

We took a wonderful trip to Lush - we were in there for literally over an hour and had such a lovely chat with some ladies in there.

I FINALLY got to pick up some exclusive bits that I've been wanting for so long but not had the money to do so. Luckily I got paid and since I start my new job tomorrow I thought that it would only be fair if I treated myself.

I've only used Prince of Darkness and Sunflower so far, and I must admit I'm impressed!

I picked up:
~ Yummy Mummy Shower Gel (mothers day);
~ Sunflower bubble Bar (Oxford Street mothers day exclusive);
~ Guardian of the Forest bath bomb (Oxford street and online exclusive);
~ Ultraviolet bubble bar (Easter);
~ Prince of Darkness fresh face mask (Oxford Street exclusive);
~ Down the Rabbit Hole x2 (Oxford Street Easter exclusive);
~ Flutterby Bubble Bar (Oxford Street mothers day exclusive);
~ Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb (Easter).

Prince of Darkness is a thick, black mask with charcoal and sea salt. This was recommended to me because of my oily skin and how awful my break outs are at the moment - I already use Dark Angels and Coalface so I do really like the feeling that I get from the charcoal. This mask really smells, to me, absolutely GORGEOUS. It really cleans out your pores and declogs everything. I was a little worried at first because my skin did feel really hot and itchy, but I took the mask off and everything was fine and super duper clean!

Sunflower is just amazing. It smells so citrusy and wonderful. I used the tiniest little bit of the MASSIVE bar and I had mounds and mounds of bubbles, that unlike a lot of other bubble bars, were still left in the bath by the time I finished.

I've already used Guardian of the Forest before and it is my all time favourite bath bomb. I never thought I could find a product that replaced the hole in my heart left when Lush discontinued Phoenix Rising, and although this will always be my favourite Lush product, Guardian of the Forest has left me feeling complete again.

Ultraviolet is also another product I've used before as it was released last year in the Easter range. I'm excited to use this as it smells very different to how I remember it and to me smells extremely similar to GOTF, a very earthy, forest like scent.

I can't wait to share reviews with you on the other products that I picked up!

Lush Cosmetics - Rose Bombshell

Thursday 25 February 2016

So, tonight I was REALLY feeling a floral scented bath, but I wanted something quite sweet too. Rose Bombshell gave me both floral and sweet!

I do apologise that my Rose Bombshell does not look that appealing - it's a bit worse for wear after being battered around by the post man!

This product is a mother's day addition, so will only be available in stores and online until Mothers day (it may be online a little longer depending on the amount of stock). I am not even the slightest bit exaggerating when I say that this bath bomb stank out my room. My bath bits are kept in a couple of lush gift boxes with the lids removed. Considering the amount of bombs I have, and that I have duplicates & triplicates of some, this bath bomb really does have an extremely strong smell to be able to stand out above the rest of my products. For those of you who are popular with Lush, this bomb shares its scent with Rose Jam shower gel and of course Rose Jam bubbleroon. For those who don't know Lush that well, I will try my utmost hardest to explain the scent to you.... Basically, as you can tell from the name, this bomb is rose scented. What is so beautiful about this scent is that it is not the overall floral scent everyone thinks of when they think of roses - this bomb smells somewhat very sweet and almost edible (hence the term "rose jam"). This bomb contains rose absolute, geranium oil, siclian lemon oil and rose oil.

As soon as the bomb hits the water, it starts fizzing instantly, causing this beautiful flood of pink to fill the tub. Surprisingly, you barely see the turquoise in the water - I'm not sure if this was because I was too engrossed with the pink or because it gets hidden by the pink. You can hear the bomb slowly fizzing away.

Eventually, the bomb starts darkening in colour as it gets to the centre. As the bomb is finishing up, rose petals disburse from the centre of the bomb and start floating around the bath. Although this was a really wonderful touch, the colour of the petals was not that enticing and did look a little lost when they were floating amidst the pink water.

The bomb left the water a wonderful pink colour - a pastel pink, but not a really dull pastel pink, which personally I really enjoyed.

This was my first time trying this bomb as it is a new product this year. Overall I am in love with this bomb primarily because of the beautiful scent. I also love that you can use this bomb on its own without anything added as its full of oils to leave your skin silky smooth. My only negative comments are the rose petals - although these are a wonderful touch I just was not a fan of the colour of the petals, and they stuck to my tub at the end! I may pick up a couple more when I head to Oxford Street over the weekend before they go out of stock. If you are a fan of floral scents I beg you to give this a try - rose Jam is such a unique smell and you really have to experience it for yourselves to understand what is so enticing about it!

Night owl bath blaster

Sunday 21 February 2016

I recently discovered the beauty that is bomb cosmetics; a cruelty free bath company which was developed 17 years ago in England. For those of you that are new here, I am extremely addicted to Lush Cosmetics (seriously, I have hoarded so many items). Now, Bomb Cosmetics are extremely similar to Lush - they both have the same morals when they come to animal testing and they both create handmade bath products.

This is the second Bomb Cosmetics bath blaster that I have tried. This product smells prominently of lavender, with slightly Herby undertones which comes from the rosemary. These blasters are also packed with essential oils, which really sink into the skin.

The appearance of this blaster is just stunning; the Little owl is sitting on a golden branch which appears to be under a night sky. The colour of the bomb is so beautiful and nothing too over the top, which adds to the whole relaxing aspect of this bomb.

This bomb appealed to me as I am a huge fan of the Twilight bomb from Lush cosmetics. I suffer from generalized anxiety, and after a really awful day filled with panic, lavender is really one of those smells that helps me relax my mind and float away.

As soon as this blaster hits the water, it starts fizzing away silently. Although it does  not put on a theatrical display in the water, I feel like it suits the theme perfectly. This blaster was created to help relax the mind, and anything too jazzed up would totally derail the sleepy experience. The lavender really comes out when the  blaster is in the water, and the bath water turns a beautiful lilac colour. I could not get over the beautiful scent that filled the bathroom; even though the smell was primarily lavender which was the most noticeable smell, the rosemary added a really beautiful note to the blaster, making the relaxing aspect that little bit more beautiful.

After using shower gel, deodorant and smothering myself in Dream Cream, I can still smell the lavender on my skin which is really comforting now that I'm tucked up in bed.

I fully intend to purchase this blaster again, as I really and truthfully feel ready to drift off into a good nights sleep.

Introduction

Friday 19 February 2016

So, let me introduce myself (without making this super duper boring). My name is Hayley, I am 20 & I live in Sutton, just outside of London.

For those who know me and follow me on other social media sites, you would know that I am a HUMONGOUS Disney fanatic. I practically sleep, eat, drink and breathe Disney. For those who don't know me, now you know. My ultimate love is Alice in Wonderland. Since as long as I can remember, I have always been in love with it; the fine details, the wondrous imagination and the creation that went into the movie itself. Growing up I had a couple of holidays to Disney World in Florida and one trip to Paris, so Disney has pretty much always been a huge part of me, and holds a lot of happy family memories that I hold close to my heart.

This blog is going to be sharing as much information and reviews as I can, as I purchase quite a significant amount throughout the month. I will try my hardest to post general opinions and reviews on films, TV shows, make up, beauty products, etc. I would also love to write some blog posts about Disney related items, and (hopefully) get round to posting OOTD's (even though I only wear my favorite clothes on weekends due to the nature of my work). I would be more than happy to fill any requests that someone may have, whether my blog actually gets that popular is extremely doubtful. So this blog is going to be very mixed and matched, as that's the kind of person that I am!

Hope you're all having a wonderful, magical day and I will check in again soon.
